Christmas Decor | Holiday 2013

It's just about that time of year to deck the halls and add lots of jolly!  In preparing for this years holiday decorations, I wanted to share our look from last year and give some simple, fuss free tips for a coordinated theme throughout the entire house.  Last year's Christmas Decor was based on a simple color scheme of black & white with green accents.  Pick a color palette you love and incorporate it in simple, thoughtful ways throughout the house.
Black and white buffalo check fabric from Ikea made an inexpensive no sew tablecloth.  Faux greenery wrapped around the chandelier and real greenery was clipped straight from the backyard and placed on gift boxes and added to a cake stand with ornaments for a simple centerpiece.  Don't be afraid to mix the fake stuff with the real stuff ~ by adding just a touch of natural your guests will find it hard to tell the difference between the two.
Who says you can't use your wedding china in an informal setting?!  I love mixing dressy and casual, and when it comes to a table setting, it's no different!  Reindeer plates were added to give my china a festive, holiday feel, and mercury ornaments were added to tie in my china's silver dot pattern.
The deer silhouette was painted with white paint on black foam core.  Not an artist?  With so many free templates on the internet, it's easy to DIY your own piece of Holiday art; take an image to your local print shop and request they print a large version of it.  Frame it and viola!  The Chalkboard Menu, on the left, is a keepsake from our Wedding Reception.  Be sure to add sentimental pieces to your Christmas decorations for a personal touch.
We kept the kitchen decor minimal.  Add a festive apron, some greenery and a small tree with kitchen inspired ornaments!

What better way to countdown to Christmas than with an advent calendar!  Our grey & black, Stocking Advent Calendar, is by Wheel & Basket!
Have you started decorating yet for this years Holiday Season?  Are you going with a theme or a color scheme?  You know I love to hear from you in the comments below!
