Blogger Stylin' Home Tours | Christmas 2014 Edition

Wednesday, December 10, 2014

It's the most wonderful time of the year!  And to kickstart the season, I'm thrilled to be part of another Blogger Stylin' Home Tours Christmas Edition, hosted by Lindsay from The White Buffalo Styling Co.

If you're coming over from Retro Ranch Reno, welcome and happy holidays!  How fun were her pops of pink!  This Christmas is a very special one for us at Iron & Twine as we have two new additions to the family, 6 week old twins, and Brian and I are celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary!  With so much to celebrate, I set out to make our living room a merry, bright and festive one without spending a lot of time or money.  Inspired by our wedding day, I decided to keep our living room tree simple in green and white with magnolia flower accents purchased from Hobby Lobby.  Magnolia leaves, along with other greenery, were sniped directly from our yard, providing large decorative impact at no cost!   Boxwood wreaths were a thrift store score for $3 each and vintage goods I already owned were added throughout the space.
A vintage wool blanket, and a pineapple adorned pillow, add texture to our armchairs.  The advent calendar is from Wheel & Basket and made with love by my mom.  It's hands down my favorite and has become a staple in our home during the holidays. I look forward to the day when I can share this with Parker & Kennedy!
A vintage basket was bought for a steal at $3, and inexpensive white kraft paper is used for gift wrap.  Other paper in navy and plaid were purchased from Home Goods and the white, grey gingham from Target.

The letterpress coaster garland is from Red Bird Ink.  The pineapple ornaments are from our wedding, originally given as favors.  The ribbon a sale item from Michaels and the large round ornaments are styrofoam, mod podged with paper flowers ~ costing a whopping fifty cents each.
Due to our new additions, this year we decided to start introducing some kid friendly decor into the mix, while hopefully starting some family traditions that we can continue for years to come.  Here's a sneak peak of what we did for Parker & Kennedy's tree, can you guess the theme?!  I'll be back later in the week to share part two of our Holiday House Tour!
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out all the houses on the tour here!
