  1. Congrats on your pregnancy! I am pregnant with my first too, and I am looking for stylish maternity clothes. You have excellent style, and I was wondering where you have been finding such good clothes for your growing bump. Thanks!

    1. Hi Claire!!! Congrats on your pregnancy!! Such an exciting time! I'm still trying to squeeze into clothes I already own, but I'm quickly realizing that won't last much longer ;) ~ I'm already in maternity pants/shorts. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Gap Maternity Sunkissed Shorts in color true black, they're a great staple for summer and work well right now with tops I already have. I also bought the khaki, but I find I wear the black a lot more, mainly because the stretchy waist band is black as well, so you can tuck in shirts without it being totally obvious that they're maternity. Also, I purchased mine during a 40% off sale (I believe they currently have a 30% off now). If you happen to live in a cooler climate and want some maternity denim, I'm obsessed with my J.Crew maternity toothpick jean in rinse. A total splurge, but I swear they're the best jeans I've ever owned. The stretch on them is amazing and miraculously they hold their shape (without getting weird and stretched out looking). I've worn mine the past month and am hoping they'll be a good pant this fall/winter after giving birth. I'm also on the hunt for cheap empire waist flowy maxi dresses ~ I've had the best luck at TJ Maxx / Marshals over Maternity stores (mainly I find their prices to be crazy for cheaply made polyester dresses). Also, I keep getting tons of recommendations to order dresses from Top Shop, so you may want to check that out. Lastly (for now) ~ I originally was slightly anti the tight fitting maternity clothes, however the larger the bump gets, the more I realize a more tailored top/dress is more flattering than an oversized moo-moo, although let's get real...come August I'll want the comfiest cotton moo moo I can find :) I hope this helps a bit ~ if nothing else, buy those gap shorts!! And I'll try to keep you posted on any other maternity finds. When's your due date?!

    2. FYI ~ I also started a Pinterest board named Maternity Clothes, I'll start posting to that as well should you care to follow along there.

  2. Thank you for the fantastic suggestions! I am looking into the shorts and jeans right now. I never knew J.Crew sold anything maternity, and I also need to check out Top Shop. I am due in mid-October, so I really look forward to any baby posts you do in the future. Like I've written before, I love your blog, and your pictures make everything look enticing. I've already told a close friend that we someday need to get a group together and take a girls' trip to Tybee Island in Georgia. Considering that we live outside of Boston, she thought that was hilarious to go that far, but as soon as I showed her your posts, she was completely on board. Now I need to convince my husband too. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
